Hi all,
My good old 10 year old DS1511+ just broke the other day. Probably a motherboard failure. I have backups of most of my stuff.
I am thinking to buy a RS1221+ or one of the recent DS models but I am afraid my old HDDs (various brands, unknown types) are not compatible with the latest models. Especially with the RS1221+ which has not that many HDDs on the compatibility list.
I might run into issues here. Resulting in that I probably need to pay an immense amount of new compatible HDDs.
I probably will try it anyways. But what do you think? Would other models, not on the compatibility list still work?
Not happy about this though as they always promote that you can just add the old disks to the new NAS and it works.
