Hi,

I am new to the NAS world, but have what I believe to be a simple question... i have purchased a 220+ and havesetup quickconnect so it can be accessed remotely by my daughter.
She is able to connect remotely and acces her files, but she wants to save existing local files from her macbook onto the nas.
"Save as" doesn't appear to work as it cannot see the device as a network device ( and assume cannot setup mapped n/w drives remotely) so was simply looking at copy and paste where she copies an existing file then pastes it to the target folder within quickconnect, only we do not get a paste option.
The only way I can see to copy existing files to nas via quick connect is using upload...is this correct or is there another way?..
Thanks

Correct.

There is also a way that a user can use WebDAV protocol (install webdav server app on the nas) and connect to the nas (and its folders) remotely that way.

Another way is also by using Synology Drive feature and app. With a Synology Deive client installed on her computer she can sync the data directly to the nas or setup an occasional or continuous backup proces

Finally, setting up a vpn server on the nas would allow any remote device to connect to the nas using a vpn protocol and then use a network mapping feature to connect to the folder(s) on the nas and transfer files that way.
