DS920+ - Xtreamer

DS920+ - Xtreamer

to complete the story : i have 4 others Synology NAS, all running DSM 6.2.4. I can connect those without problem.
I had a DS415+ and I've migrated the HDD to a DS920+ with DSM 7.0.1
I see this drive but I can't log in from the streamer. No problem from a computer. I didn't change username or password or any user rights.
I've tried to create a new user ... not working

Hey Vivian,

You might want to take a look at this topic.

Funny thing is that when you open that topic, the mention about 7.2 aint there :)

I see some options there in that topic, that might help you. Maybe just try it.

I that topic there are 2 solutions.

1 - be sure to add SMB "allow" to the user who needs acces to the samba share
2 - Copy /etc.defaults/samba/smb.conf to /etc/samba/smb.conf via SSH

Maybe your Xtreamer is using smb V1 protocol.

You can change the minimum version used for SMB in the configuration

Fileservices -> smb -> advanced. Change it to minimum v1.

There is a reason that it is on at least v2. Since v1, is not secure.

nope... this is what I have

I see you changed the default settings. I assume it also didnt work with the default's.
I'm out of idea's. But maybe its a good idea to switch to NFS share's. Instead of SMB v1.

Are you only using DSM local user accounts?

I had an issue with SMB access when a local account and LDAP account shared the same shortname (and at the time password)… the LDAP account was assumed when connecting with the shortname and it had no SMB rights but the DSM account did. I was trying to connect as the DSM local user!

A long tech support series of emails and they fixed it on my NAS. Not sure if that fox has made its way to a DSM release.

Another option would be to downgrade to dsm6 if nothing else works.
downgrade not allowed by synology... :-( thanks anyway

long shot but did you try to enable NTLM v1 in SMB, advanced, Other?

This is another default setting that was changed because of security.
it gives connection issues on unpatched W10 pc's as well, for sure it should be put back if it does not help.
