DS922+?

Do you guys think we'll see an DS922+ soon or is it to soon for a successor to the DS920+?
I'd love to see more powerful hardware to make VMM actually usable (but I doubt that..) I'd also like to see more USB-ports.
My DS918+ is very stable and reliable but it would be fun upgrading..

I doubt you will ever find a very capable processor in a consumer soho nas. It is overkill for most people and energy hungry, needs cooling, noisy.
I’d recommend to run VMM on a small server using a ryzen or intel and leave the nas for what it its designed for: take good care of your data.

Even if there will be one it might end up with that and v1500 cpu or (better) with an intel celeron 6000 series. In any case, vmm on those cpus will not be speedy and my prediction is that cpu will again be a choke point.

I3 or xeon sure but that’s already xs class.

I would like to see a 4bay version of 1621xs+ think that one would sell well. The only problem would be media transcoding but that’s another story.

My guess is that 922 version might be out some time late next year probably not before.

I think a DS922+ in late 2022 would probably be called DS923+ instead.
Anyway, I'll keep my fingers crossed that something cool turns up.
