Hi

First post here 🙂

I wanna "upgrade" from ds720+ to DS423+ because i need room for more hdds

I also want to buy 2 nvme ssds, for a raid 1 volume

Is it correct that you can now create a ssd nvme volume, and have all your photos on that volume and have Synology photos run from that ssd volume?
And have volume 2 with the remaining 3-4 hdds containing backup, movies etc? 😁

Maybe even running all your packages from ssd?

This Guy (a redditors) maintains and collect scripts to do everything with Synology Nas

Synology officially don't support nvme on all units with m.2 nvme slots neither on non-synology branded media, but 007revad' scripts fixes that.

Sadly r/Synology seems kidnapped by an radical mafia and curiously does nothing to promote this knowledge.

Please share and stay away from r/Synology

Here are more useful scripts mostly from the same guy

All correct but officially nvme pools work with synology drives only. There are ways to run it with non-syno drives but use it at your own risk.

Nice, thanks for the answers

I guess Samsung 980 (non pro) will work just fine?

And what USB 2.5G adapter can you recommend?
Thought Synology removed the options for usb network adapter.

Okay, thank you. Do you have a link to a guide on how to install the drivers? 🙂
