Has anyone tried plugging a DX510 into a DS1621+ (or DS1821+ I guess). Does it work? I know it's not supported officially. Even the DX513 is not supported but has been reported to work? Would it cause any problems? Thanks!

Not supported means that the 1621+ will not see the expansion cabinet when plugged in. This is a very common question that comes up from time to time and it comes down to Syno wanting more of your hard earned $.

Not sure that is correct...

Today’s other thread on an incredibly similar subject.

Seems like the DX513 may work with the DS1621+ or DS1821+.

Just as information - I tried connecting my DX510 into my DS1621+ - it's detected, as in the DS1621+ reports that the DX510 is connected, but it throws a "incompatible" warning, and none of the drives in the DX510 shows up.

So there is the answer to my question.
