Hi,

I have Synology RS2212RP+ with a iSCSI that is accessible by a Windows Server. I don't know why I have some files and folders that I cannot delete and want to. The error is

The files or directory is corrupted and unreadable

I already try data scrubbing in NAS but it doesn't work.
Is there any way I can access those files in NAS to delete them?

Thanks a lot for the help!

Welcome

Have you tried to approach this from the client side of things? Client being the windows server using the iSCSI LUN. Did you try and reboot the server and then delete the files?
Yes. That was my first try. The error I mencioned is displayed in the Windows Client...

Does anyone had the same problem?

No. My question would be if you are using multiple windows boxes to hit this iSCSI LUN that I assume is formatted as NTFS. If so, that would explain it. NTFS is not designed for multiple computers to be accessing the storage LUN directly. They should be accessing it as an SMB share from the Windows server. That's why Synology by default won't let multiple iSCSI initiators hit an iSCSI LUN. You have to click a checkbox for the LUN to allow multi initiator access. Only file systems that have built in controls to prevent corruption, such as VMware's VMFS, can have multiple systems hitting the iSCSI lun directly without corruption being an issue.

Yes. That was the issue... But now I know I can't do it.
But what can I do with those files/folders? How to get rid of them?

I would try accessing the NAS via SSH and using the Linux commands rm and rmdir to see if you can remove the corrupted data. If you're not Linux proficient I would find a friend who is to assist. You want to be careful when deleting data from the command line. Also make sure you have backups before starting that process.

I did same, way back when I didn't know the difference between shared folders and ISCSI.
Backup files on ISCSI drive.
Then:
- Format ISCSI drive, to wipe it clean.
or
- Delete ISCSI LUN and make a new.

Do you know where can I find them?
