In case your switch bricked... Hopefully these were not used to send our data somewhere else...

 
year ago I switched all my networks to Ubiquiti from Cisco
because time is running out and Cisco is not always the best by default.
 
Cisco recently issued a software update for some of its switches, but instead of patching the devices, it ended up bricking many of them.

However, the fault was not Cisco's own; the bricked devices were not genuine, but rather highly convincing counterfeits.
From the linked report: this is pretty poor writing though the headline is correct in what happened.
