I’ve been using this Mac free app to delete empty folders too. It works well (Didn’t try it with Catalina).

I must have been blind. Again. I was checking the Storage Manager for this.

TBH I'd forgotten that Storage Analyzer had this feature so well remembered @Telos ! 🍪🍪

Wow, cookies. Reminded me of the old days. We had a lot of cookies back then :D

I remembered it now that @Telos mentioned it. If I recall correctly, it only reports duplicates.

Actually it is a very useful app. It shows you duplicate files, user quotas, file types, etc. Lot's of filters.

Excellent. what I meant is that you can’t delete with it. Like telling it to delete the oldest files in duplicates and keep the latest for instance, or can it do that now?

Yes, I was able to delete a duplicate file. You can see both files and their location, then you decide which one you want to remove.

I think I‘ll install it again and take a look. I’m looking for mass deletes according to rules. I don’t want to hunt for files one by one. I will try it.

I just had to re-setup the report I run on the backup NAS and notice that there's a setting for the number of duplicates that are reported. The default was 200 and maximum is 5000. You may want to check this number and increase it if you're getting near the limit you set.
