Given that my NAS is only used as a file and backup server, I have setup the NAS firewall to not accept anything outside of my local network (NAS to accept only the 192.168.1.xxx addresses).

Not unexpectedly, that blocks Active Insight from communicating with my NAS.

Should I care about losing the Active Insight service? 🤷🏻‍♂️

As much as it can provide useful information and quicken the troubleshooting steps with Syno support, nothing much more out of it is beneficial. Sure, the intrusion and logging info is also an added bonus, but like you said, if you are keeping things in house, you are not missing out.

Absolutely nothing at all, it's more of a burden.
