Sorry if I am posting ignorant questions, but I have been on Youtube trying to setup my DS1522+ and what I thought would be a simple process has put me in front of my computer for a whole week trying to download my files! I received my DS1522 and 5-12 TB k Hard drives (one of which was DOA) on Monday. I sent the bad one back and started setting up my NAS in the meantime. I set up using SHR2 system and set up a new admin user and inactivated the original admin account. I created 2 shared folders, one for my photography files and one for personal files and my iPhone pictures. Thought that I added a sub-folder for my personal files but can't find that folder. What I did find was that when I set up to download my iPhone files , I found another folder with a similar but different name that was its own folder. They had different contents.

Another issue is that I was under the impression that an Admin user could see all of the downloads from all of the users. I have to log in to the originators user account to see files. Was I wrong about the Admin powers?

I copied thousands of pictures directly into a subfolder of my Photographs shared folder directly via Finder. They cannot be seen by the admin but can be seen by the non admin user in File System. Neither sees them on the iPhone apps or computer Synology apps (Drive and Photos).

Should I start over and try a different way or can this be fixed

Both users see this except non admin can see iPhone pics

I know that this is about as clear as mud but I am confused and maybe even confusing myself some!
Thanks for your help
