Full bare metal backup with Hyper Backup and DSM 7.2

It's been nearly two years since DSM 7 came out and brought many new features across both old and new devices in Synology's lineup.

The current version of DSM, 7.2, pushes the initial version 7 with some new options focusing on security, as well as data protection, alongside some new app-specific features.

During the Syno marketing campaign they did liken this to a bare metal restore. This was slightly odd in that Synology actively prevents DSM being used on any bare metal.

Even if it is softened to 'full system' it remains rather odd as the 'system' part is DSM, which has to be installed and running before the 'full system' recovery process can happen.

Someday, in my dreams, ABB will be bootable on the NAS into a minimal environment from a USB thumb "rescue" drive, from which environment you could do a bare metal restore from a backup on another NAS.
