I have been trying to setup Active backup for buiness to backup a folder on my mac.
When I attempted to create a backup task on the Mac active backup client I get an error that I am not authorized.
IThen I read the instructions and it says I need to create a DDNS server and get a certificate. which I thought I had already done - there is a certificate for active backup listed.

All this is new to me and I am now totally confused between:
creating certificates,
adding a DDNS server
Tailscale MagicDNS. etc
Can someone offer some advice please?

That’s exactly what I’m trying to do. Doesn’t ABB support backing up folders and files?

In case of selected range of files and folders on macOS, no.

It’s all of it or nothing.

For your particular need, Synology Drive (with Synology Drive server on your NAS) might be a better option. It has a sync and/or backup option. It will be possible to configure backup for specific files/folders on your mac.

ABB is for backing selected volumes on the Mac. Here's my Mac Mini:

I normally only select System Volume. If I want to select a custom set of volumes then I only see AFPS formatted volumes. The external USB-C M2 drive is partitioned to with an exFAT and AFPS partition. You cannot set the task to backup less than a volume.

You could use Synology Drive and a backup task type to backup Mac folders.

Thanks for clearing that up. I'll look into the Synology drive and backup taSK METHOD.

Hi Rusty Thanks for the prompt response. Unfortunately you are going to have to bear with my "ignorance"...

I will leave others to comment that have or had experience with Minix, personally I haven’t.
