I have a DS418+ and recently took my DS213J off site to my parents house for a remote backup. While I have no problem accessing the DS213J remotely with QuickConnect, when I try to access the device with QuickConnect through hyper backup it is not finding the device. I had no issues with local backup on same network, and from what I have read should be able to use QuickConnect as well to set up the hyper backup for off site backup.

Any insight into what settings to check? I would think the fact that I can access it remotely going to the QuickConnect web login should mean that it isn't a router issue, but maybe there is something specific to hyper backup?
TIA

Are you relying on QuickConnect's relay service or just using QuickConnect to resolve to your parent's Internet IP?

Doing a Hyper Backup to Hyper Backup Vault connection isn't a Web service (i.e. not based on HTTP). It could be that you need to open the TCP port on the destination firewall and forward it to the, now remote, DS213j.
Hyper Backup (destination)6281 (multi-version backup), 22 (if encrypted over SSH), 873 (remote data copy)TCP
Hyper Backup Vault, DSM 5.2 Archiving Backup6281TCP

I will check this out, this seems like it could be the culprit. Thanks.

Unfortunately, HB does not support QC. It's either, a public IP, DDNS, or LAN IP.
