I have been owning a DS416 for quite a while now, and bought a DS218 two years ago.
I originally thought of doing everything on one NAS, but then, I moved country, leaving the DS416 behind. On the other side of the world, I found the latency quite bad (both connections are optic fibre based though), and I acquired the DS218 to "replicate" the old one locally.
NAS enthusiast, I recently started to look a bit closely at the software in DSM and tried a few customisations.
It also made me realise I should I bought "Plus" versions, but frankly they are significantly more expensive.
I found this forum while trying some customisation. I'll probably tell a bit more about that in a dedicated topic.
