High-speed replication between 2 sites

Hi there,

Looking for some advice on syncing files between 2 sites.

I have 2x FS6400 at two different building locations. Both offices have 10Gbe internet connections. I have attempted to use ShareSync but the transfers are painfully slow. I also attempted CloudSync with Box.com and was also receiving slow transfer rates (10-14Mbps).

What solutions may I be able to implement to share files immediately between these two locations and leverage faster connectivity? We move around a lot of large media files - it would be beficial to obtain even marginally faster speeds between each location. The end result is to have 2 identical copies in each office immediately available for use at each site.

Thank you!

Have you tried shared folder sync option (File Station) and not the one Drive Sharesync?

Considering you need working copies on both side snapshot replica is not an option but it would be very fast in terms of transfer.

Not sure why you are getting such slow outputs. What method of remote communication are you using in terms to connect the two destinations? Quick connect, static IP, site to site vpn?

Thanks for the reply Rusty!

I am using Quick Connect right now. The 2nd unit lives in a mobile unit and travels from time to time - IP address changes and the server powers off/on frequently. One of the aspects I did not mention is the ability to power up & connect without user intervention (me).

I am not familiar with shared folder sync in File Station. I see how to share a folder in File Station but how do you have it sync with another server?

my mistake it’s in the control panel.

Also note, unlike Drive, this feature is a one-way sync! If this is not an option, then you will be left with Drive.

Also you mentioned the second unit is moving around yet it has a 10G web access Is that all the time? Not depending on the current location?
