I probably have a question that has not been asked to often.
I have a 1817+ and wonder how to set it up to be invisible to the internet? That is, I DO NOT NEED/WANT to be able to connect remotly from outside my home.
I use it only in my own network at home/office but want it to be SECURE from outside "interference"....
What settings should I use?

Be sure to setup your modem/router to close and hide ports, remove forwards if they are present. Setup the NAS firewall to exclude external IP's and close ports as well.
Not sure though about not setting the gateway in previous post, as that would probably kill the outgoing traffic (packages/updates/time server etc) as well, and that is a separate choice to make.

I thought about mentioning firewall settings on the NAS but figure if he's behind a router than that would be a bit overkill and cause complications with internal connectivity.
