Solved Hyper Backup automatically Backs Up Surveillance Station Files?

Hi!
I am using HyperBackup on my DS261play to backup to C2. I basically selected all root folders (Homes, Photos, Videos) but deselected the root folder I created to store MP4's Surveillance Station generates. Turns out that HB backs up those files anyway, resulting in many Gb's being backed up unwanted. HB says this is bc of settings in Surveillence Station, but I can't find which. Anybody have a clue?

PS: new to this forum and from reading posts already learned that I should separate HB tasks for daily files and long term photo/video storage. Thanks!

The SS help text for Backup and Restore... maybe the Recorded events 'configuration' is the actual recording files from the the surveillance Shared Folder?

Backup and Restoration
You can back up Surveillance Station and restore it to a previous version with the Hyper Backup package in DSM.

To back up Surveillance Station:

1. Go to DSM > Hyper Backup to start the Backup Wizard.
2. Follow the wizard, and choose Surveillance Station when you are prompted to select the applications to back up.
   Note: For more information on the preceding operations of the Backup Wizard, please refer to the Help article of Hyper Backup > Data Backup > Create Backup Task.
3. After the backup task is complete, the following Surveillance Station configurations will be backed up:
   • Surveillance device settings
   • CMS settings
   • Recorded events
   • Layout in Live View
   • Notification settings
   • E-map settings
   • License key
   • Log
   • VisualStation settings
   • Joystick settings
   • Snapshots
   • Action Rule settings
   • Axis Door Controller settings
   • IP Speaker settings

Note:
It is not supported to restore your backup of Surveillance Station 6.0 and earlier versions.
To restore Surveillance Station:

1. Go to DSM > Hyper Backup to restore the desired backup task.
   Note: For detailed steps, please refer to the Help article of Hyper Backup > Restore.
2. After the restoration is complete, the current settings and data of Surveillance Station will be overwritten.

Hi,

In my backup task I have both, Surveillance (folders) and Surveillance Station (Applications) unchecked and it doesn’t back up anything to do with SS. Check those.
