Hyper Backup suspended/cannot start rotation

So I ran out of room on my hyperbackup drives. Apparently I somehow didn't set my file rotation correctly and now the backup task is suspended due to lack of space. Its in purgatory because it won't let me manually delete/rotate old versions until the task finishes or is discarded, but it can't finish unless I create more room.

So, what happens if I discard the task? Can I then manually delete/rotate old versions, or do they remain locked down because they no longer have a controlling task?

No you can't rotate versions manually, it will corrupt the bk. Delete the HB job and create a new one. You could try to reconnect the new job to the existing task with the created versions, if that doesn't work you should start over with the first bk.

for the future:

• you may want to set the disk use level warning ( in notifications)
• think about splitting HB in multiple smaller tasks.
