My question refers to the structure of an ActiveBackupforBusiness folder. As mentioned in a recent thread here, there are 2 subfolders; '@ActiveBackup' & 'ActiveBackupData'. Only @ActiveBackup can be backed up by HyperBackup ('ActiveBackupData' is grayed out as it tells me it is virtual).
So...if I only make a hyperbackup of @ActiveBackup to an offsite or cloud location, can that be used without a corresponding 'ActiveBackupData' to restore data? If so, how?

Be mindful with HB and ABB when it comes to restore. Abb should be fine but not AB4M365. Also you will not be able to reconnect to an existing task or recreate it without the actual data folder.

Thanks for your reply Rusty. Can I please confirm what this last sentence means? To avoid any confusion lets say I backup 'PC' to NAS-1 using ABB & then use HB to backup ABB folder data on NAS-1 to NAS-2.
If I understand correctly, to restore to PC from HB data, I'd first need to restore ABB folder on NAS-1 (from HB). Is that correct?
If so, it looks like I need to rethink this. Perhaps Snapshot Replication would be a better choice.

Correct. Would recommend SR if you do have a secondary nas. Abb backup is recommended to be executed via SR (officially)

OK, I may have some SR questions depending on how things go....but I'll ask them in the correct subforum. Since NAS-1 & NAS-2 are at different locations (actually different countries) and upload from NAS-1 is really slow, it may take some time to get a first SR completed. First HB took 8.5 days

Yes, one of my backup jobs did not run that day either. It was fine the next day, though, so I didn't worry.
