iOS GoodNotes and Synology - any way to sync GoodNotes to Synology instead of iCloud? [eom]

Synology DS Note w/Note Station is connected and working. What I'm not seeing (mind you) is that the primary database is housed on the NAS (NOT the local device such as an iPhone....and a full sync doesn't help if it still requires keep an entire copy of all the notes on the iPhone...and one of the key reasons to host the database on the NAS is to manage the large file size.

So far everything is syncing in parity...anything on the iOS device matches the DS Note app.
What I need is to have 95% of the notes living on the NAS, not the iPhone. Maybe a light sync for metadata is all...and then call on a note on demand.

I don’t think this is possible until GoodNotes developers add such a feature. Something like WebDAV.
You might want to vote for it.
Upvoted every mention.

Just out of curiosity, have you tried Synology's Note Station? I've used it before and thought it was pretty good.

Note Station | Synology Incorporated
Looks like the reply vanished..sorry if this a 2x.

I have DS notes and Note Station up and running. This could work though the solution need have the notes database reside on the NAS, not the local devices. If it is a 100% parity sync then that won't work, the file size will be too large. Maybe a light sync w/metadata, then accessing a note stored on NAS on demand.

Testing so far keeps everything 100% matched...not finding a way where the notes are stored on the NAS only. Maybe that is the way is working in the background?Side note, this would work if stored on NAS. The app is a bit rudimentary, not as polished as some of the other note apps...but it could work.

(about to kick Joplin around a bit as an option)

I would recommend this. Synology Notes was a disappointing experience for me, and a Synology lock-in. Joplin has an active support community in which the developer is active. Did I mention it is cross-platform? As you might know, it uses Markdown, which is relatively simple to use. The desktop versions have wysiwyg options.

I house the notes on the NAS and sync via secure WebDAV. AFAIK, syncing involves all notes, which gives your device offline access to everything (up to the last sync).

A full sync, well, the file size would be too large. That brings me back around to DevonThink/ToGo as it will do a light sync of just the metadata, and then download what you need on demand (or in advance if needed offline.)

Not as concerned with being locked in as there is DS note has an Adobe pdf export function is stuck.

btw - DevonRhin and it’s Go companion are overkill..way more complicated than needed. Might be the only option is looking to keep the master note file on the nas (?)

The following two apps support WebDAV. But I believe it's a full sync.
I've used the 2nd one a long time ago. It was good if you're using it with a single device.

Thank you for the mentions. Nice to see webdav in the iOS screenshot. It has selective sync, however that appears to be more of a preselected sync vs on demand, and think you are right where anything synced is actually living in each location.

I had Notebooks and now seeing iOS store isn’t recognizing the purchase so have another to-do.
