I just completed a migration, and everything carried over perfectly except for quickconnect, which is still pointing at the old NAS (which is now offline). The new NAS shows the same ID in Control Panel / External Access, but has quickconnect disabled, and when I try to enable it it says the ID is in use.

The official instructions here seem to be obsolete: How do I transfer my QuickConnect ID to another Synology device?

It says that entering the same quickconnect ID on the new NAS will produce a popup asking if I want to transfer the ID to this device, but there's no popup; it just says "<ID> is already in use" and gives no options.

The second suggested approach is to unlink quickconnect from the old NAS via the Synology Account site, but that seems to be obsolete too. Both devices show up in my account, but the SA site seems to have removed the functionality to configure external access directly; the "quickconnect" pane now just tells us to go do it in DSM. Which of course isn't possible for the machine that's offline.

The only action available in Synology Account is to fully remove the old NAS from my account ... but it's not clear whether that will free up the quickconnect ID, or just leave it attached forever to that old device.

Am I missing something obvious? Has anyone managed to complete the process under the current DSM / SA versions?

Strange, when I go to my sysnology account overview page, I can scroll down to devices, click on my ds920+ and I'm taken to a page that has the model, s/n and an external access area that has an Unlink button. I didn't click on it, but I presume that it will unlink that device from my synology account. Once unlinked, you should be able to go back to DSM and link the new device to the original id.

Hmm, now that's odd! On the same page, I just see this for both the old and new devices:

That looks like it's not linked. I have the same panel at DDNS that yours has since I'm not using it. But the ghostly cloud graphic is replaced by a button on the quickconnect panel. How did you access your synology acct page? I went through control panel. Maybe something needs refreshed or cache cleared. I don't know.

Interesting. It looks the same for both devices, though -- including the old one which I've used with quickconnect for years. As a double-check I just tried logging in via different browsers, on desktop and mobile; they all look the same. Very strange.

First, verify DNS is set correctly on both NAS devices.

Log onto the old NAS and amend the QuickConnect ID to something different; I suggest appending "-old" to the name.

Then go to the new NAS and reuse the original QC ID, it should work fine.

I would go to my synology account via the synology website, and disconnect that device an essentially delete that quick connect ID and just make a new connection for the new one.
