With 7.2.2 & Latest SS. No SS AS motion Detect.
I’m seeing one of 2x cameras of same MFG & firmware acting different since newest SS Version. ONVIF Camera settings 1 of 4 4K cameras from 2 different MFG’s.
Was working correctly: It suddenly goes into a 30 min continuous recording! Ceases at 30 min, then restarts. Over and over creating huge files!
Now: Because of 7.2.2 & Latest SS I CANNOT Edit the camera settings, OR, It will REMOVE SS as a Motion Detect Source! But, I know this isn’t programmed in, (though it CAN BE -In Record Schedule!)
and it has been doing shorter SS motion detected recordings before this. SS is doing motion Detect on all 12 cameras on 3x NAS’s!
So: What to do?
Logged into camera and rebooted it, keeping existing settings, hoping that the loss of, then reconnect to that camera within SS will force a re-load of the camera settings that I cannot do without losing SS as a Motion Detect source in camera settings based upon SS As motion detect. ??
Maybe??
It Worked! That camera returns to short motion detected recordings, not 30 minute, recordings.
This is something new and exciting ftom Synology!! This type of action was never seen before on 4k cameras for well over a year, but now within a month of latest update has reared its head twice now. on 2 different ONVIF Cameras. So far - just ONVIF 4K cameras.
It appears that though the camera is set for only motion detect recordings in camera editing under Record Schedule…. It can somehow CHANGE to ‘continuous recordings’…… but can be reset (Work Around) by reloading the SS camera settings, not by opening (editing them), but by rebooting the camera to force SS to reload the settings.
Another technical embarrassment!
Now you know if I bring this up to them: they’ll just side step the issue as something not supported any more, as opposed to realizing they’ve created a new bug!
