Issues finding NAS on LAN

Hello,

Could not find the correct topic for this; please move if this is the wrong place.

Synology 215j with two 12TB WD red drives installed. Been working fine with no problems until today. Have always been able to mount, stream, etc.

The problem: Shut it down earlier to clean the shelf where it is. Unplugged and handled gently, no knocks, etc. Plugged everything back in and started up no problem. Both disk lights on, LAN light on. Status blinking green. I can see the box on the network map in my hub, but I can't browse to it or mount it. I can see the box using arp -an in Terminal. I get no response from a ping.

Have tried:

1. Shut down, restart of the box.
2. router shutdown, reset, restart
3. Mac shutdown, restart.
4. Single beep reset of the box.
5. Tried a mode 2 reset to reinstall DSM but cannot get three beeps out of the box at all.

--> All had no effect.

6. Took the drives out and started up - no effect.
7. Added drives back in one at a time - no effect.
8. Powered everything down together and brought it all back up, router first. - no effect.

Basically it all seems fine but cannot get to it and cannot reset it would seem (?). It should 'just work' especially as nothing (that I know of) has changed.

I've searched using find.synology.com and Synology Assistant; neither find anything.

Is there a way I can force a reinstall of DSM without destroying data, given I cannot seem to reset the box effectively..?

Any advice appreciated, please... :)

Thanks

Open your router settings. You should see an IP associated with the NAS if indeed it is on the network.

Did you check the cable(s) and firmly pushed them in the ports.
Using a short cable an position the nas next to the router could eliminate an issue with cabling.
