Jellyfin is a Free Software Media System that puts you in control of managing and streaming your media. It is an alternative to the proprietary Emby and Plex, to provide media from a dedicated server to end-user devices via multiple apps.

More on their site:

UI Docker installation:

Or for more advanced users:

There's an Andoird client app for Jellyfin:

For iOS use MrMC player:

For instance, you can connect to the Jellyfin server on your NAS via Apple TV with MrMC player seamlessly. (tested)

Just an update, there is an android client app (both phone/tablet and android TV) available.

Not a problem. I have to say, from the little I've used the apps so far I'm seriously impressed! The fact they've made a TV one alone makes a HUGE difference! I have little doubt that there are clients for other OS's but as I don't have any I'm not able to check.

Two things bothers me with Jellyfin.
1) Subtitles aren't reliable. Sometimes they work, sometimes they doesn't.
2) Watching movies in portrait-mode on an iPhone isn't supported.
