Letter from ISP today

Zito (I know, but that’s what I got!)
Sent a letter today, offering GB Internet speeds now! (I’ve heard rumors that it’s been out on the sly for a few months.)

They call it: Speed Remote PHY Internet

???????? Huh ??????????

Can’t call until Monday, and probably will end up talking to a card flipper: reading results off flip cards.

Anybody know what this might mean?

Did a search, didn’t find anything.

Actually 2 letters! One to me thanking me& explaining about recent upgrades, and 2nd addressed to “Current Resident” indicating same plus offering a discount!!!
Very cordial conversation with Zito today.
1. They confirmed their new hardware, from local office to our house in mountains DOES NOT support backup, so when the area loses power, their new amps still die…killing internet, TV, Phone if connected…..
When I responded that we know that, that’s why 90% or more houses here have whole house generators & UPS’s, She immediately removed the $10 surcharge for not buying TV service, only internet.
2. Next conversation: the 2nd letter, a a bout discounted gb was sent in error, But they will make amends……. After 6 months: $89.95…………
I had done my tests,the highest Download bandwidth we use is 4K streaming which wife says works all day long at 200 without buffering!
Download good!
Since new hardware online 1/31/24 I know cameras available worldwide since mid February!upload good!
I stayed at 200 service. Did not upgrade to gb! To save $$$$$
3. Confirmed:200 service at $49.95 And: NO SURCHARGE for not having TV!

Gb at same price-each month: OK
Gb at a higher price, and what we have now works fine……. Unnecessary expense!
