Just setting up my NAS. I set up a shared folder called "Media". Then I set up SMB. When I mount the NAS in finder using SMB I can see the "Homes" folder and the "Home" folder but not the Media folder. I've checked the permissions and they are all read write for me. Any suggestions?

To be clear, the permissions that matter are the ones assigned to the user on the NAS; this NAS user & pw then needs to be specified in the 'Connect To Server' dialogue in Finder.

So for eg, on the NAS create a user 'mediauser'; give this User r/w permissions to the 'media' share on the NAS; then specify this user & pw in the Mac's Finder 'Connect To Server' dialogue when connecting to the media share.

Thanks for your reply. I finally figured it out. I had checked the box where it said to hide the shared folder (at this point I don't remember where exactly it was).
