Hello Folks,

I used hyper-backup to backup files to a new synology box (over 1 TB). Which are now in a hyper backup vault.

I want to take them out of this vault and available for use. I use Hyper- Backup Explorer to view the files, I also dragged and dropped a 60 Gig folder from the vault to a win explorer window to a shared folder on the synology box. This took overnight just to move 60 Gig. This took forever, being that it is a move within the unit itself??

I am sure there is a better way? I need to move 1 TB out of the vault and put in a folder on the same unit. Without using my drag and drop example above.

Thank you,
Ron

I believe I found my answer. With this i am now restoring to a shared folder.

To browse backup repository via a standard file protocol:

  1. When using the Hyper Backup on DSM 6.1 or above, your backup data will be stored in a new file format called .hbk.
  2. You can double-click the .hbk file in File Station to open it directly via Hyper Backup Explorer.
  3. To browse your backup data in File Station or via a standard file protocol (e.g. SAMBA or AFP), please right-click the .hbk or .bkpi file and select Mount Hyper Backup destination, and then choose a shared folder to serve as the mounted destination.
I believe we can close this question out at this time.

Thank you,
Ron
