Preferred form factor DS (DiskStation)

Number of bays: 2-bays

Do you have any existing drives that you plan on using? Yes

Prefered RAID array setup for this NAS: not sure

This NAS will be used for: backup, multimedia

Max budget for this setup: 500 USD

Number of users that will utilize this NAS: 2

Where will this NAS be used: LAN and over the Internet

Additional information:
My DS215j no longer powers on, but time to upgrade anyway. Should I go to DS220+? Is that an easy migration?

There are options to migrate between different class of nas devices but you have to be aware of the limitations.

One way is also starting fresh, or moving the drives (with some limitations).

But the model is a very good choice.
