User introduction New Greetings from an 8 year Syno User

Been a DS415play owner since, well, 2015. Upgrade to a 1520+ last year after finally building a website on it but also finding out that a play model didn't support many things like mail+ and docker images.

Also, I got a RT2600ac router (before the 6600 came out) and 2 MR2200ac APs.

My 415play is now a dedicated backup destination.

I recall that the transfer process from the play to the plus was onerous and unworkable for me for some reason, and I wound up moving everything on a file and folder by file & folder basis. Took awhile to move all the family stuff this way, and have now installed and taken awhile to figure out Surveillance Station, Photos, and Synology Drive. I will start to reinstall a wordpress website soon.

Read reviews on the drive models you are considering. I would definitely recommend the WD (formerly HGST)...
