I'm looking to upgrade Homebridge from version 3.0.20 to 3.1.0 but I'm unable to do so as it says Node.js v20 is needed. Only version v18 is available from Synology via the Package Center.

Synology do seem to have a page for Node.js v20 here, but I can't see a download link? Am I missing the obvious?

It's here...

I've just updated the list of latest versions, and Node.js v20 is now included.

Ah ha my thanks, greatly appreciated.

Next silly question, which one do I need for my DS918+ (Celeron J3455)......

It's usually the x86_64 for Celeron J CPUs. You can confirm by going to Download Center and selecting your NAS. Then hover over a link to the package downloads. The URL will show the CPU architecture.

Ah ha right........ I'd not thought of checking that way. x86_64 it is indeed! :)

Sigh......

"This package requires DSM version 7.2-60085 or onward."

One step forward, one step back.....

Download Center shows.....

So should I go through each update in turn from 7.4.1-49262 Update 6 or am I okay going straight to 7.2.1-69057?

That is

7.4.1-49262 Update 6 to 7.2-64561 then to 7.2-64570 then to 7.2.1-69057
or
7.4.1-49262 Update 6 to 7.2.1-69057

Edit - Question answered:

To close this out.......
  • I downloaded both packages and labelled each carefully
  • The 69057 update 1 package was installed and the NAS rebooted.
  • I went to install the 69057 update 3 package and it informed me I could not downgrade, and on checking the version is said I was on update 3. Weird.
Everything seems to be running okay. Once I updated the Node.js v20 update was available in the package centre. From there I had to update a couple of other packages (Maria 10 DB etc), then repair both. That got my forum up and running again.
I then had to stop / restart Homebridge a couple of times before it saw the Node.js v20 update was present. I've now been able to update Homebridge.
So hopefully all has ended well.

I had no choice as I wanted to get Homebridge up to date and that needed v20.
