Hi,

I have a Synology DS214+ and am trying to setup Synology Drive, seemed easy when I started it out, considering I got it to work within some minutes. The problem is, that was by connecting the Android app through my local IP (192.168.x.x).

After that I've tried to open the correct ports provided by the NAS to be able to access the Drive from outside my home network, without success.

The error I keep getting is "Untrusted Connection: The SSL certificate of the connection is not trusted. This may mean that it is a self-signed certificate, or someone may be trying to intercept your connection."
I've searched for a solution and couldn't find something that worked for me, so I am hoping anyone here is able to help me out with this.

If any more info is required, let me know.

So, I got it to work by playing around with the ports a bit. The next issue I'm facing is that foreign users can use my NAS through a web browser https://name.synology.me:port, however, when they try to connect through the Synology Drive app it tells them it can't find the server.

For me it works through cellular data when I connect to that exact same address. I am not getting that error somehow.
The Firewall inside the NAS is turned off, so I doubt there will be any issues with that.

So we moved from one to another problem it seems, maybe someone can tell me what I should do to make it work.

Well, I would say go to Login Portal in DSM settings and use Applications tab to assign https domains to apps. I have assigned domains to Photos, Drive, Audio and Notes.
Then just open port 443 on your router and these dsm apps will be reachable on https://xxx.name.synology.me, in your case https://drive.name.synology.me

That way you will also avoid opening dsm ports or be confused about what ports you should open in each case.

Would this be the correct configuration for it to work? As when I try it, 443 won't work. It for some reason uses port 53553.
(I don't know if this might have anything to do with it, but at the Router Configuration tab, the port connected to local port 6690 keeps changing randomly.)

Edit the Synology Drive entry and further down you will see that you can enter a custom domain.
There you have to enter https://drive.xxx.synology.me.
Then, open port 443 on your router.

The person abroad still get's the same error. I on the other hand have 0 issues connecting through cellular data on my phone. Kind of weird considering they can connect to the NAS through the Chrome app.
(drive.(name).synology.me does work indeed, thanks for that already.)

Small edit: Apparently they get send to the login screen, and when they put their username and password in the screenshot I attached is what they see next.
