I have 4 disks in an SHR 1 array on a system using DSM 7. This is my first NAS so I did not upgrade from an older version of DSM.
I started with 2x6TB and 2x16 TB disks The storage pool showed I have 25.5 capacity.
I replaced one of the 6TB drives with a 12TB drive and the storage pool still showed the same capacity of 25.5TB
I then replaced the other 6TB drive with a 12TB drive and the storage pool still shows a capacity of 25.5TB
To recap I now have 2x 12TB and 2x16 TB drives and the storage pool is only showing 25.5TB
When I checked to see if I could expand the volume I see that I cant expand the volume even after replacing both 6TB drives with 12TB drives.
Maybe I did something wrong in my path to upgrade my storage volume? Even with one disk of redundancy I would expect more capacity from my storage pool?
When I entered my disks in Synology's raid calculator its showing 40TB of usable storage but it seems I'm getting exactly half of my storage pool where according to the raid calculator I should be loosing the capacity of the largest disk which is 16TB.
