As you probably know by now, newer Synology models can have NVMe storagepools (with overpriced Synology hardware only). Would be interesting to know if anyone succesfully has bypassed this limitation? People use to do all kind of hacks for their Synology models during the years, perhaps this can be bypassed aswell?

Depends on the NAS model. I do not have NVME drives in my DS1522+, but am using non-synology storage in it.
