Organize photos with AI

Hi all!

I’m currently using a Qnap Ts-233 for photos but I’m about to send it back due to lackluster performance and a horrible UI.

Which economy NAS from Synology to buy for organizing photos with Ai. A box with dedicated AI/neural chip or just a box with “more”?

DS223 or DS224+ ?

No AI chip in present offerings. Only a standard CPU (mostly AMD without integrated GPU).

DS<bays><year><model series> ... DS244+ would the 2 bay 'plus' series NAS from 2044!! Or latter half of 2043 if you're lucky.

The Intel Celeron CPU devices have the integrated GPU.

Synology’s NAS naming scheme. There isn’t a DS244+ yet, like you said, the current year model is DS224+.

Keep in mind for object detection on the ds224+, you’ll need to upgrade the ram higher than the default 2gb.

I believe it's good for faces just not objects, for objects I'd need to upgrade.
