I want to backup a Windows server (2008 R2) or at least the specified files on this server on a Synology located in another city, i.e. in a remote location.
The remote location has an Internet connection only via the mobile Internet, with no chance of a public address (mobile network have only with private addresses).
This means that the Windows server cannot establish connection directly to Synology.
I've heard about solutions where a Windows server connects to the cloud. At the same time, a service maintaining the connection to the cloud is running on the remote Synology side. And with this solution, the Windows server sends data to the cloud, which goes to Synology.
I don't want to keep the data in the cloud (due to the volume).
Questions.
1. Is the described scheme possible?
2. Has anyone practiced this, or how does it work? How much RAM, what processor in Synology, planned 20TB volume (total), incremental backups.
3. What do I need to make the described solution work?
Thanks
