So, I'm going to sell my 218+.

I pulled out the 2 REDs and they live in another NAS already.
Do I have to do anything else before selling it except blowing out the dust?

I mean to do sth (reset maybe?)
so the unit to be ready to be used from an non experienced person as if it was new.

With the drives absent, no personal information remains.

If you have a QuickConnect ID associated with that NAS, go to your Synology account and deactivate that.

No worries about personal info and no QuickConnect ID,
I just worried if the 218+ will be ready to setup again from the start.

I think it is good manners to do a reset to ease the process for the next user. As you say, it puts theNAS in the ready to setup state and behave just like the user manual. No drama if you don't of course but I like your thinking.

Reset does nothing without drives installed. Or am I mistaken?

It resets all network settings and sets the L2 discoverable flag for the installation wIzard.

I can put a spare old 3.5 HDD and try to reset it.

Unfortunately I was in a hurry to put the original disks in the new NAS,
trying to finish the transfer in the weekend.

I don't think you need drives in to reset the network settings - at least in my experience. Of course, there could be model or architecture differences out there so someone will shout-out if a caveat applies.
