Recommendation for DS920+ to replace WD Red 3TB EFRX Drives

Hi All,

New to forum and good to see the active discussions.

Replaced my dead DS415+ last night with a DS920+. All good but now thinking that it might be a good idea to replace the drives as well and i also want some more storage space.

Currently i have 3 3TB WD Red EFRX drives in SHR, all healthy and last night saw they have been running for 42.5K hours

As it has been some time since I looked at this, what are people recommending? I have seen Iron Wolf being mentioned...

I have all my drives from WD (red and gold in 3 and 4TB capacity) as well as ssd’s. Can’t complain. You noise is an issue maybe you should avoid Iron but some wd high capacity ones are noisy as well.

3TB WD Red EFRX drives in SHR

I have the same disks in my 418play and running smoothly for 2 years now. In 720+ I also use WD Red SSD 1TB. Works like a rocket.

I don't have experience with IronWolf, though.
