Remote Access Quick Connect Open VPN or both

I'm setting up my new 1821+ and was wondering which is more convenient. The way I will be using the remote connection is with the Phone Apps like Photos Mobile, DS Audio, and Plex. Also, while on vacation from my laptop. The reason I want to use DS Audio sometimes instead of Plex is that my Pioneer car radio will see the app instead of Plex. Would love here from others.

I’ve stopped with the external access completely because of the potential security risks.

Quick Connect is. VPN is more secure but less convenient.

Also, Quick Connect isn't available for all services... especially if you are going to be relying on the QC Relay feature.
