RS1221+ and larger drives ?

RS1221+ and larger drives ?

Precisely not the point I was making. For me the bottleneck is either the backplane, cpu or potentially the NIC. With modern HDDs pushing 250 MB/s (or more) each, it is also not beyond reason for these to saturate a 10 GbE pipe with just 6 drives.

Agree. I have 12 drives in raid6 (HDDs), and saturating 10G is not a problem at all.

Maybe it's Synology Hybrid RAID then because I can't get those speeds with DS1817+ nor with RS1221+ (just tested now and i can't get close to 10Gbit let alone 25Gbit speeds).
Regular RAID6 should be faster than SHR-2 AFAIK.

I used BMD Disk Speed test for results.
