Hi, just wondering if anyone has had any success with any particular 4g usb dongles?

Not many reports with the rt6600ax. One from 2022 that the Huawei 4G dongle E3372 worked then.
I have that one working fine with RT2600AC model but I have modified that stick with a firware that will turn it into a classic "modem" and not router. In that mode it works fine. The firmware 21.180.xxx is the one that worked for me when I had use for it.

So one of the problems with using an iPhone is: after a reboot or if there's a powercut, it loses connection to the iphone and you have to plug the iphone out and in again to get it working.

I tested it with two iPhones so far, an XR 15.6.1 and a 6S 17.4 ...both same behaviour...(I even tried jailbreaking the iPhone XR, but tetherme doesn't work on ios 15.6 apparently, not sure if it would help anyway...i'll look into that a bit more...long time since i've used jailbreak)...tested direct connect and with a powered hub, made no real difference...once or twice maybe it recovered with powered hub...but overall neither reliable...

I have a UPS so power out isn't and issue. I dont reboot my router that much so not much of an issue there. I also have a grandfathered unlimited tethering account, so not an issue there. Works solid for days at a time, basically until I need to pull my phone for something.

I grant not all those conditions will be common for most folks.
