Hi,
I've been lucky enough to come into possession of 2 x RT6600ax routers. Unfortunately they are not working & I wonder if they can be saved? If so, could someone advise me how please?
The first powers on but the Status LED remains static amber. Plugging a network cable into any of the LAN/WAN ports results in their LEDs blinking green.
The second powers on and the Status LED blinks green but no lights come on if a cable is plugged into the LAN/WAN ports.
I cannot find either of the routers on my network. For both, pressing the WiFi button has no effect, no wireless network detected nor do the LED lights come on.
Hard resetting has no effect at all.
Is there any way I could plug in an USB stick with SRM or firmware on it & have the router update itself? Or is there another way I could rescue these?

Thanks for your attention
Del

I did same with 2x 2600’s. eBay purchases. Next to nothing to buy. One with no supply or antennas. One with all parts.
The one with all parts was dead. An IC had shorted, and actually burned a hole through itself and All the way through the PCB.. yes! you could see through the board! So much for fuse blowing to protect from high current shorts!
not worth repair, but became a parts donor for second unit.

Second one had proper bootup LED Sequence but no internet connection. Found Wan1 dead. Moved modem to wan2, and it worked! Knowing this-disassembled it, and:
Using dead unit (hole was no where near this area), measured resistance in Wan1 transformer windings, and connections from RJ45 to transformer to the IC. Compared to second 2600. Believe it’s part of the IC for Wan1, not transformer, or connection to RJ45, as all continuity and resistances matched between the 2. That IC appears to do WAN1 and LAN1/Wan2 and 3x LAN 2,3,4 connections. and Way Too many pins for me to attempt to replace IC, but it is an open, not a short! So, put it back all together again, and it runs fine at WAN2 but still dead at WAN1, even after firmware update. I stopped there. It’s been operational for many years! So I’m batting 1 for 2!
If anyone needs a part off dead 2600, just indicate what: and it’s yours for postage! It’s already helped someone with reset button.
