I want to use hyper-backup to backup my plex server. I have Plex upgraded to version 7.0 When I look at the shared folders I now have 2 plex folders. (Plex) and (PlexMediaServer), question is are both of these folders still in use or is the (Plex) shared folder left over from Plex 6.0?

2nd quest is does anyone have a script that will stop plex, that I can run from task scheduler and to stop plex run hyperback and then restart plex server?

Or is there a better methoid to backuping up Plex from one Synology NAS to another NAS sitting in the same room.

Any help would be great. My e-mail is [email protected]

Thank in advance. Tom

I recall backup scripts were posted in the Plex forum. They did not involve HB (nor can I see HB being overly useful for this task).

Plex is a legacy folder in your case.

You could use the Snapshot replication package if supported by your NAS models for fast local and remote snaps in case of a disaster.

If you want a true backup of Plex, use the Plex migration process to back up your Plex installation (no Hyper Backup or Snapshot Replication can do that fully).

Begin with the section "Copy Server Data From the Source System".
