In the security tab under accounts there's two buttons, "for a better word." Manage protected accounts and Manage Trusted clients. I've searched the Synology kb and here and YouTube for an explanation but no luck. When I go into either one they are empty. Is there a simple explanation and should I be using them to protect my users.? TIA

You can manage two lists of users.
Both lists you can assign a different regime if wrong passwords are entered.
You mean that part?
You can press ? On top right to get a bit more help.

Ok, I get that part. But how does it get populated to begin with as there's no way to enter an ip address. Here's an example. over the last month I was letting Synology look at my nas as I'm having problems with Synology photos app. They had me setup an admin account to test the app on their phone. Now that their done and I deleted their account. How do I block their IP? for the heck of it.

That's what I thought. However, when I put the techs several ip's in the list, my DS920 disappeared from windows explorer. I got the ip's from the list in Security Advisor

Try adding them one-at-a-time, saving, logging out, restarting* your computer, then logging back in until you get to the one causing your problems. Then do a whois or go someplace like one of these: ipinfo.io, abuseipdb.com, whois.com, or greynoise.io to see who it belongs to. It could be your ISP has something out there aliasing to you.

*Assuming you're on Windows, restarting clears the memory registers vs power off|on which writes them to disk.
