So i am a bit of a noob. But the machine im backing up is runninng windows server 2012 r2 with 3 users. I wanst sure if it matter if i choose server or pc in active backup. anyone know whats the difference?

In server mode, you have access to all partitions... including system partitions. In PC mode, system partitions are not visible (presumably they are backed up).

Then, again, I'm presuming you are referring to ABB.

On top of this, "server" backed up device can be coverted to a VM inside a compatible hypervisor directly from ABB, while the "pc" one can't. Also, you can convert (one way) "pc" to "server" if you want this feature without reruning the backup using a "server" template.
