A Single subnet suffices here... (Approx 30+ devices) My Approach for a long while now:
Created New admin accounts, Disabled admin account on Router & NAS, and changed default ports...
DHCP: .40 -- .54
Router Firewall:
Allow Internet .1 -- .160
Deny Internet .161 -- .255 (Hits)
Deny ALL at bottom of list (Hits)
ALL 3 NAS's Firewall:
Allow Access .1 -- .24 (Computers)
Deny ALL at bottom of list (Wish it allowed Hits!)
One NAS only Firewall:
Allow ftp .161 -- .175 (cameras)
No ports forwarded. Access to live camera views via QC: SS & DS CAM. Access to NAS's via QC: DS FILE, DRIVE. This works world-wide.. (Safe Access, Threat Prevention running)
This approach seems to work....
