Hi everybody,

I see a post related to my issue, but It was more than a year ago and I don't want to do spam.
I have a DS918+ (7.1 DSM version) and some apps (File Station, Download Station, Application Service, Docker, etc) doesn't work anymore. In Package Center they appear with a "repair" button but nothing happens when I click on it. I tried to uninstall and install again but also doesn't work. Even some apps don't have the uninstall option.
After reading a lot of forums (included this), It seems that reinstalling DSM or upgrade to 7.2 is the solution but this will be my last option cause I'm newbie and It scares me a little.
When I try to repair, some errors appears in /var/log/messages file:

2023-07-29T00:54:55+02:00 DiskStation synow3tool[17513]: nginx_conf_register.cpp:128 Failed to load json store

2023-07-29T00:54:55+02:00 DiskStation synow3tool[17513]: nginx_deploy.cpp:176 Failed to sync nginx plugin config

Is there any other solution than reinstall or upgrade DSM?

Thank all of you

Welcome to the forum

There is no reason to be afraid of an update in terms of your data. The data volume will not be affected, and worse case you can recover from backup in case there will be a need to do so (ofc you need to have a backup ready beforehand).

This might very well be a DSM issue considering that it is a prerequisite for the packed to be installed.

Before doing so, when did those packages stop working? Have you done something that is not an official/supported method? Any updates/upgrades?

In Package Center they appear with a "repair" button but nothing happens when I click on it.
There are numerous reports of Package Center connectivity issues at the Community. It seems that is broken presently. Manual downloads from your Downloads page should still be active.

Indeed, seen that yesterday. Not to mention that in the history section, there is also no mention of this. Not the best move by them, but I guess the thinking behind this is "its AWS issues". :cautious:

Thank all of you for your quick response.

I tried to download and install manually but this also not work. Also tried to downgrade apps with same result.

I just stop my NAS for cleaning and when I start It again the apps stop working. Any update or unofficial method. Like I said I'm newbie and this things scares me a little.

If It helps, I install third party apps successfully with no errors but when I install Synology apps (Note Station and Mail Station) they give me same 'repair' error.

I don’t want to sound suspicious, but that makes no sense to me. Ok maybe there was an issues with the DSM upon boot and reflected poorly on the apps, but if that is the case, reinstalling will be the way forward.

Ofc open a ticket with Synology and have them take a look. It might be a bug of some sort it an easy fix.
