Just wanted to call on everyone to support this forum because it deserves it. It’s well thought, elegant and a fun place with great knowledgeable people. And between SynoMan and “trusty” Rusty we are in good hands :)

Spread the word about this place, share your knowledge and don’t be shy to ask. We ALL started at zero and none of us is as knowledgeable as all of us together.

We should all celebrate at the lounge with a big, virtual cake when the forum reaches the milestone of 100 members.
In the meantime, everyone head to the lounge and grab one of the virtual cookies I left there :p

Wish you all the best.

I felt kinda lost until I found this forum…
Abandon the dark side, you must.
(I hope you red the above in Yoda’s voice. It becomes more convincing) :)

like you, I tried. I even asked in the ”disaster AND recovery” section. I was the first one to “politely” post In that section.
Searching for an answer while drowned by all the white space, the ugly fonts, the screaming people, the constant scrolling and the never ending trauma of blue blinking lights…
And the women with no eyes keeps looking at me…
She keeps looking at me…

Then…
@Telos replied.
No one answered from Synology! How rude. I packed and left…

I haven’t seen any recent posts (a few weeks?) from anyone at Synology at the community site. Makes me wonder if they all went hiding, fearing the backlash from the people. I hope they’re now realizing what a mistake it was.

My post was on September 28, 2018. At the beginning of the hyped “community”. Not recently. But maybe it was my tone that they didn’t like. Although I was really polite. I was, wasn’t I?!

Anyway, who cares. We’re here now (although without a bot). Yes, no bot. SynoMan kicked him out. Turned out to be a spy bot with encryption all the time. He’s trying to smuggle him into the “community” thing to sabotage the operation from the inside.

Stay tuned, you’ll hear some good news soon.

I missed out cookies
Yesterday I cleaned and upgrade my rack environment, then no time for this kind of feasting. But I found in the rack my needle nose pliers from last year “prophylactic” .
Then just morning coffee to you gents.

But I found something better like pliers  :
it is a rocket now, I need lot of works to tune it, but excited :)) how much you can get with UniFi Security Gateway PRO + Ubiquiti US-48 (switch). Bye Cisco.
tested also with borrowed RT2600ac, but I think, from wired part of network it is not Synology best & wireles must be from Ubiq. also as one environment.

Yep, I run a USG plus UniFi switch plus 4 x UniFi AP's with UniFi Controller running in Docker on my DS916+.
LAN2 on the NAS is vlan'd off with Surveillance Station and my camera network. All works very nicely :)

That would mean custom development. That's why I ask. But if it's not the case, then it's ok.
