Syncthing is installed, remote devices are added, but I can't add folders for synchronization. An error appears:

Failed to create folder marker: mkdir /volume1/photo/.stfolder: permission denied

Error on folder hh3dp-c5sqo: folder marker missing (this indicates potential data loss, search docs/forum to get information on how to proceed)

Does anyone know what to do with this?

Have you gone to the SyncThing documentation? A web search for SyncThing permission found this…

Any fool can tell you to study the documentation, but maybe I'm in a forum for studying documentation?

I don't think so. Please, if you can't help, keep your suggestions to yourself.

OK, but you didn’t say you’d looked there already. So you’ve already looked there? And their forum too, but no luck?

Have you considered the access permissions on /volume1/photo? Are other files and folders able to be added but it’s just the hidden SyncThing folder that is blocked.

BTW check out rule 4 in the forum’s Terms and Rules.

🫶 And success with Syncthing😎
