Hi, I bought a 2423rp+ installed 32gb of kingston memory and 4 WD gold harddisk. It is running flawless for a few days and than suddenly i cant login anymore. Most of the time the shares are still reachable. I did already a memtest and it didn`t come up with errors.
I know it is not the adviced memory and hdd`s, but still.... Does anyone has the same problems, and what should be my firststep? changing the memory back?

I have an RS2423rp+ that I've had since around May of 2023. It has worked flawlessly since then for me. I would definitely suggest swapping the original memory back in to see if it stabilizes the system. I started a thread detailing the aftermarket parts I put in mine when I got it:

I cleared the browser already, without success. For now I swapped the memory. hopefully it works at least.

swapping the memory didnt solve the problem, it crashed again after a few days.
I am trying now if it is the 10gb network connections who is maybe incompatible with the switch or so.
I think it is not completely crashed, because hdd`s are blinking and port 80 is reacting.

Put in the factory memory, and if you have pro data backed up, do a factory reset. Something got borked.

Also, are you using ECC memory. I bought ECC memory and it's working great. ECC will give you log errors when it borks, and it is useful for that alone. I forget what ECC memory, but I think Rusty shared a link to something and I just bought it on amazon.

I highly doubt it has much to do with the drives. I've been using 'non-compatible' toshiba drives (the same ones used by Synology before they slap their labels on it and charge 3x the price) and have had zero issue now for about a year I think.

Hi, the nas is still crashing with the factory memory. Today I am going to swp the discs a perform a clean install.
And yes I had ecc memory.

I think that the original raid config and data remains on the disc, when i take them out and put them later back in?

I reinstalled the nas. on a clean ssd disc. But after ebooting it is not coming up anymore (crashed again or something...)

I just ordered 1 synology compatible drive, to test. lets see if this works.

i installed the new original synologybrand ssd. hopefully this will work. Does anyone know if i can put the other discs next to it and that it will recognize the raid config, or are those drives also bootable drives and gives problems on booting? I was thinking that even these aren`t original syno drives it isn`t the main drive anymore and that it could work
